Project summary
My team successfully supported the launch of Sproutling in 2017. Sproutling is a baby wearable monitor that tracks the baby's sleep status, allowing parents to set custom notifications to let them know about the baby's sleep status. Sproutling also has a built in algorithm that learns from the baby's sleep patterns and history to help provide an estimate to when the baby could be waking up. This feature will allow the parents to better plan for their day and also provides a peace of mind. We launched the app in iOS and Android in multiple countries in multiple languages. I was responsible for overall design strategy and execution of the app. The design team conducted our own usability study as well as delivering the whole UX/UI experience.
This was my first experience working with a connected product. It was incredibly interesting to learn about how digital experience emerge with physical experience. They are separate entities but at the same time from the user's point of view, really one experience. The challenge was to have a truly deep understanding of who our users are and how they use our product versus the app. Once we have an understanding of that, we can then design the app experience to compliment the physical experience, so when no matter how and when the user interacts with our product, the whole experience feels intuitive and seamless as one.
